| Why AVIT?||
|Up to now, all of the established manufacturers in the control system
industry today have in common the fact that they all operate with closed,
proprietary systems which only allow their own touch panels, controllers and bus
devices to be used with their systems. In other words, users are forced to use
the hardware coming exclusively (and expensively!) from one manufacturer. In
addition to high prices and inflexibility, this also greatly reduces your choice
of products to use. New, innovative products from other manufacturers with
better features and prices cannot be used.
These restrictions do not
exist any longer with the AVIT concept. AVIT stands for flexibility, openness,
and the use of established and accepted industry standards. There are no
restrictions in the choice of hardware and the compatibility is defined only by
the industry standards which the hardware has to fulfil.
| What does AVIT stand for?||
|AVIT stands for the convergence of AV and IT. The main supporting idea of
the AVIT concept is to have TCP/IP as the communication standard among and
between all components in the system. This allows for AVIT control information
to be passed along using ANY existing IP Network infrastructure. Any component
can communicate with the other components in the system using existing IP
networks. All available IP networks can be utilized. Even Wireless LAN can be
used to transport control commands from the Touch Panel via Controller and IP
Bus Device to the operating device, e.g. a projector.

The programming of the control system is
done with the software solution Stardraw Control. With this award-winning
innovative software you can realize both the programming and the design of
the Touch Panel’s user interface.
COMM-TEC offers cost-efficient and very reliable Box-PCs on Windows XP
basis. For projects which require a very high level of operational
reliability, we also offer large, powerful industry controllers with

choose between simple keypads, wireless panels, desktop touch controllers
and wired wall-mount panels. Your expectations regarding design and
aesthetics will also be met.
AVIT Control has all the
standard interfaces of a professional control system. You
can control your equipment over bi-directional RS-232, IR, Relay and I/O.
You can also integrate your building automation systems like KNX/EIB into
the AVIT system via an Ethernet gateway. This is realized with the help of
Global Caché bus devices.

Designing the GUI (graphical user interface) for the
Touch Panel is a breeze due to pre-programmed templates. The templates
have been created with great importance placed on user ergonomics. Each
